Mojo
Akitas is located in Northern California about 75 miles
south of San Francisco. We breed quality Akitas for show
and companionship. Our interest in Akitas first
started in 1989 with a rescued Akita/Lab mix named Kumo.
He was unlike any other dog that I had previously known
and not only looked more Akita than Lab; he had the spirit
and soul of one. Because of Kumo, I began reading books
about the breed and realized the traits in Kumo that we
loved so dearly, were the traits of an Akita. We lost Kumo
in April 0f 2000 after 11 years together. Without
him we probably would have never ended up where we are
now.
We are devoted to this breed and
can't imagine not having one in our home. We are current
members of the Golden Gate Akita Club and the Akita Club
of America. We are striving to produce healthy dogs with
breed type, soundness and excellent temperaments. Breeding
to improve, not mass produce, we will only breed when we
feel that we can make a positive contribution to the
breed. Health clearances such as OFA, CERF, and thyroid
are always performed. Our dogs are part of our family and
we enjoy spending our free time doing things that include
